Kohima, June 6, 2025: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today inaugurated two key infrastructure projects in Kohima aimed at boosting local livelihoods and preserving cultural heritage.
The Farmers' Marketing Complex at Mao Market, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, was formally opened as a dedicated space for farmers - especially women vendors to sell their produce. Rio emphasized that the facility would provide a vibrant platform to enhance farmers’ incomes and improve community well-being.
Later, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Nagaland State Emporium Complex, envisioned as a hub to promote, preserve, and market the state’s traditional handlooms and crafts. He noted that the emporium would serve as a bridge between artisans and consumers, helping to safeguard Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage.

Highlighting the importance of sustainability, Rio called for the efficient management and maintenance of both facilities to ensure their long-term success and impact on the local economy.
