Aizawl, June 2, 2025, Virthli: In response to the severe landslides triggered by recent heavy rains, Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Minister Prof. Lalnilawma and Horticulture Minister Pu C. Lalsawivunga today conducted extensive visits to several of the most affected localities in Aizawl.
The ministers inspected landslide-hit zones across six localities, including; Venghlui, Dawrpui (Temple to Vaivakawn road), Mission Veng Kawltheihuan, Mission Vengthlang (Shalom Baptist Church to Tlawng road), Kulikawn Vengthlang, Vaivakawn Zohnuai.
During the visits, Prof. Lalnilawma emphasized the need for close coordination and swift action to support affected families not just in Aizawl, but across Mizoram. He noted that proper drainage and protective barriers are crucial to mitigating rain-induced disasters, and underscored the government's commitment to improving resilience measures.

The government has activated Joint Inspection Teams to assess the full extent of the damage at each site. The ministers said that comprehensive reports would be submitted promptly to facilitate timely relief and rehabilitation efforts.
