Guwahati, June 7, 2025: In a major administrative move, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday announced the issuance of 4,002 mutual transfer orders, benefitting 9,004 Grade III and IV government employees across the state.
These transfers were processed through the Swagata Satirtha Portal, streamlining a traditionally complex and manual system. The digital portal, which became operational on January 1, 2025, has introduced a transparent and efficient mechanism for mutual transfers within the same department and pay scale, addressing a key concern among lower-tier government staff.
“This decision marks a major step forward in reforming administrative practices and addressing long-pending staff demands,” said Dr. Sarma.
In the same event, the Chief Minister also launched the Mukhyamantrir Jibon Anuprerana Asoni, a scheme aimed at supporting full-time research scholars. Under this initiative, A ₹25,000 one-time grant will be provided to eligible Ph.D. and equivalent-level researchers enrolled in government or recognized institutions. Specially-abled scholars will receive an enhanced grant of ₹40,000. The scheme seeks to boost academic research and innovation while providing direct support to young minds in higher education.
