Churachandpur, June 28, 2025: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to visit Churachandpur in July 2025 as part of his proposed tour of Manipur, infrastructure development has gained significant momentum. In preparation for his arrival, the STC-BSF Camp approach road, connecting Teddim Road to Gangpimual, is undergoing urgent repair and blacktopping work.
The road - an essential access route to the Specialised Training Centre of the Border Security Force (STC-BSF) - is being upgraded by the Public Works Department (PWD). Work commenced on June 22, beginning at Lanva junction and stretching toward Pearsonmun, covering approximately 2 kilometres, including a section linking Teddim Road with the Tipaimukh road.
The upgradation involves Water Bound Macadam (WBM) layering, followed by blacktopping using heavy machinery such as JCBs and vibrator rollers. The improved road will be approximately 18 feet wide, and blacktopping has already been completed up to Covenant School in G. Mualkawi.
Additionally, the helipad within the STC-BSF campus is being upgraded to accommodate the Prime Minister’s helicopter during the anticipated visit.

The road, which had seen minimal maintenance for nearly two decades, is now receiving attention due to the likely high-profile visit. While the current push is driven by VIP movement, the improved infrastructure is expected to provide long-term benefits to both residents and security personnel in the area.
Though an official itinerary has not yet been released, ongoing ground preparations strongly suggest that Churachandpur will be among the stops during PM Modi's upcoming tour of Manipur.
