Senior Political Leaders Join NPP in Nagaland, Conrad Sangma Welcomes New Members

Kohima, June 28, 2025: In a significant political development, senior leaders from various parties in Nagaland have formally joined the National People's Party (NPP), further expanding the party’s footprint in the state. NPP National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma personally welcomed the new members during a special event held in Kohima.

Taking to social media, Sangma expressed his delight and optimism, stating, “Had the privilege of welcoming senior political leaders from different parties who have formally joined our party in Kohima. I am delighted to welcome each one of them to the party.”

Sangma emphasized that the new political allies would strengthen the NPP’s mission to drive growth and development across Nagaland, while also contributing to a shared vision for progress in the entire Northeast region.

As part of the day’s event, the NPP also felicitated its party councillors in Nagaland. A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Smt. Ane-ü Khaming, who was formally appointed as the National President of the National People's Women Front (NPWF). Her leadership is expected to enhance the role of women in political and developmental discourse within the party and the region.
