Shillong, June 28, 2025: The Lariti Multipurpose Hall in Mawkasiang, Shillong, transformed into a battleground of skill, strength, and spirit as the Shillong Cage Fighting Championship (SCFC) hosted its Fight Night 1, an action-packed evening featuring 12 thrilling MMA bouts. Held from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the event drew hundreds of spectators and MMA fans, all eager to witness the rise of new warriors in the North East's rapidly growing combat sports scene.
The SCFC aims to bridge the gap between local athletes and national-level competition, bringing top-tier mixed martial arts to Meghalaya’s doorstep. With a fiery lineup of 10 male and 2 female bouts, the event saw 12 local fighters from Meghalaya go head-to-head against 12 national-level opponents from states including Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand.
