Guwahati, June 28, 2025: In a major initiative aimed at supporting students preparing for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations, the Government of Assam has announced a monthly financial assistance of ₹300 for six months.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcement via social media on Friday, stating that the scheme is designed to give students an “extra push” in their preparation journey.
Under the plan, students will receive ₹300 per month for a period of six months, amounting to ₹1,800 in total. The financial aid is intended to help students afford tuitions or improve their diet during the critical months leading up to the exams.

“The Govt of Assam is committed to stand by our students as they prepare for the HSLC exams - a major stepping stone,” CM Sarma wrote. “To give them an extra push in their preparation, we will give them ₹300/month for 6 months so that they can take up tuitions or improve their diet before the exams.”
