Itanagar, June 20, 2025: Arunachal Pradesh-born actress Chum Darang has been honoured with the Best Supporting Actress (Jury) award at the IWM Buzz Digital Awards 2025 for her chilling portrayal of Svetlana in the psychological horror series Khauf, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

She described the accolade as a collective triumph, acknowledging the contributions of her cast and crew. Chum dedicated the award to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, praising their unwavering love and support, and closed her gratitude with a powerful message: “to those who dare to dream.”

Early Life & Education: Born 16 October 1991 in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Chum pursued her schooling at D’Ering Memorial Higher Secondary School. 

Pageantry Success: She first shone in the beauty circuit as Miss AAPSU (2010), later becoming Miss Himalaya 2015 (2nd Runner-up), Miss Earth India Water 2016, and earning titles such as Miss Tiara India International 2017, with subtitles like “Miss Sports Gear” and “Miss Best National Costume.” 

Acting Debut: Chum made her screen debut in the acclaimed Paatal Lok (2020), followed by film appearances in Badhaai Do and Gangubai Kathiawadi (both 2022). 

Reality TV & Entrepreneurship: She participated in Bigg Boss 18, finishing as fourth runner-up, and runs Café Chu in her hometown. She’s also active in social advocacy.
