Aizawl, 19th May, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Zoram Medical College & Hospital / State Referral Hospital, located in Aizawl West District, has recently secured three prestigious national certifications for healthcare quality, a significant milestone in the institution’s service excellence journey.
The assessments, conducted on March 21 and 22, 2025, have resulted in the hospital being awarded certifications under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), LaQshya, and MusQan programs - all initiatives of the Government of India to ensure and enhance healthcare quality in public hospitals.
Under the NQAS, ZMC scored an impressive 92.89%, demonstrating high compliance with national standards. In the LaQshya program, which focuses on improving quality of care in labour rooms and maternity operation theatres, ZMC achieved 98.26% in both the Maternity OT and Labour Room categories. Additionally, under the MusQan certification, aimed at ensuring quality child healthcare services, the hospital attained 92.80% for its Paediatric Department.
With these accomplishments, ZMC becomes one of the few government hospitals in India to receive three national quality certifications, reaffirming its commitment to patient-centric and safe healthcare delivery.
