Aizawl, May 23, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Professor Laldinliana Varte of Mizoram University has achieved a significant academic milestone by becoming the first Mizo to earn a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree. He received this degree from The Thames International University (TTIU) in Paris, France, an institution recognized by the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
With this accomplishment, Prof. Laldinliana now holds four doctoral degrees:
• Ph.D. in Commerce (2011) from Mizoram University
• Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) in Business and Entrepreneurship (2023)
• Doctor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship (2025)
• Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) from the International Open University of Florida
Currently, Prof. Laldinliana serves as a Professor in the Department of Commerce at Mizoram University and is the Director of the MZU Incubation Centre. He is also an Expert Member of the Mizoram Startup Mission and a Member of the Mizoram Youth Commission.
His academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Commerce from Mizoram University in 2011, where his thesis focused on consumer behavior in Mizoram. Over the years, he has contributed extensively to research in areas such as marketing, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, and social cost-benefit analysis.
