Aizawl, May 13, 2025, Virthli (ONP): In a major step toward enhancing rural development efforts in Mizoram, the Rural Development & Administration Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation (BRLF) for a three-year partnership. The agreement aims to improve support for households in remote villages through strategic collaboration and resource convergence.
The MoU was formalized in the presence of Prof. Lalnilawma, Minister of State for Rural Development & Administration, who emphasized the importance of inclusive development and targeted interventions in hard-to-reach rural areas.
Under this partnership, BRLF will assist the state government in enhancing the implementation and reach of rural development schemes, particularly those focused on natural resource management, agricultural productivity, groundwater conservation, and sustainable farming practices. The initiative also includes promoting non-pesticide-based agriculture and improved livelihood opportunities for farmers and rural communities.
A key component of the collaboration is the convergence of departmental schemes to deliver more efficient and impactful services. This includes aligning with central schemes and leveraging local resources to amplify developmental outcomes.
The MoU was signed by Pu V. Lalengmawia, Additional Secretary, on behalf of the Rural Development & Administration Department, and Pu Kuldip Singh, CEO of BRLF.
