Imphal, May 31, Virthli: A high-level team of senior officials from the Home Department, Police, and Relief & Disaster Management today carried out an aerial inspection of flood-affected regions in Imphal East district amid the ongoing heavy monsoon rains.

The aerial survey, conducted via helicopter, offered a detailed overview of the extent of damage and immediate needs of residents impacted by flooding. The assessment forms a key component of the Manipur government’s 24x7, multi-pronged flood response strategy aimed at mitigating the effects of the crisis.

In a public update, the Government of Manipur stated that various departments are working in close coordination to maintain continuous access to essential services such as clean drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, and emergency shelters.

All Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to remain on high alert and implement prompt relief and clearance measures, particularly in landslide-prone areas.
