Tuiá¹haphai, April 16, 2025, Virthli(ONP): The District Administration of Churachandpur has officially lifted the total public curfew that had been in effect since March 17, 2025. The decision comes in light of a significant improvement in the district’s law and order situation.

In an official order issued today by the Office of the District Magistrate, Churachandpur, the administration cited a report from the Superintendent of Police stating that the potential threats to peace and public safety have been effectively contained. The order noted that the general environment in the district has stabilized to a degree that no longer necessitates the stringent restrictions previously in place.

“After a detailed assessment of the prevailing law and order situation, it is deemed prudent to reconsider the imposition of total curfew in the district,” the order stated.

As a result, the total public curfew imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which had prohibited the movement and assembly of persons outside their residences, has been officially withdrawn with immediate effect.

The order was issued by Thangboi Gangte, Additional District Magistrate of Churachandpur.

Residents are now free to resume normal activities, although authorities have urged the public to continue cooperating with local law enforcement to maintain peace and order in the district.
