Integrated Tribal Development Project Launch In Lakhipur Development Block Of Cachar District

 A Project Supported by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)

The Integrated Tribal Development Project at Lahipur Block of Cachar District, Assam was launched on the 13th August 2020 at PMS Junior College, Hmawkhawlien. The launching of the project was organized by North East India Committee on Relief and Development (NEICORD) the Project Implementing Agency. The project is supported by NABARD for the period of 6 years to promote sustainable livelihood and income of the tribal farmers of Lakhipur Block in Cachar District by promoting sustainable farming and development of wadi. 

Ms. Keerthi Jalli, IAS the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar District grace the occasion as a Chief Guest. The programme was attended by government officials, banks, District Development Manager from NABARD, Village Council, Village Headman, Goan Panchayat and farmers along with NEICORD Staff.

The Deputy Commissioner in her speech expressed her gratitude to NABARD for the support that would benefit the farmers of Lakhipur Block and NEICORD for taking the initiatives to implement the project in Lakhipur Block. She encourages NABARD and the Project Implementing Agency to provide continuous support of the farmers and ensure that benefit of the project reaches the intended beneficiaries and as the Head of the District Administration she expressed her willingness to provide any hand holding support to the project. Speech was also delivered by Shri. V. Aggarwal, IAS the Assistant Commissioner of Cachar District, Mr. Susanta Chakraborty, the District Development Manager from NABARD LEAD District manager Cachar, Regional Manager, State Bank of India Cachar, Regional Manager of Assam Grahmin Vikash Bank, Branch Manager of Central Bank of India, District Fishery Officer and District Veterinary Officer.
