1. Born in 1937 at Kaihlam Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur. Had his early Education from the Churachandpur NEIG Mission Junior High School upto Class VIII. Trained in the D.M. Bible School, NEIG Mission, Churachandpur after completionof Class VIII.
2. Actively associated with Socialist Movement for the Restoration of Manipur Legislative Assembly while in High School Studying at the Churachandpur High School from 1952-1954.
3. Graduated in Arts from the Gauhati (now Guwahati) University and studied L.L.B.
4. Contested General Election since 1962 from Thanlon and Jiribam Constituency as Socialist candidate with the Banyan Tree Symbol and was defeated.
5. Serve in the following capacity:
(a). President, The Hmar National Union (HNU) Manipur, Assam and Tripura 1957-1970.
(b). President D.C.C/Churachandpur (1971-1972) Member, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.
(c). General Secretary, MPCC (1973-1974)
(d). Treasurer, MPCC (1975-1976)
(e). Chairman, Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur (1974-1975)
(f). Attended National Institute of Social Studies and Research (Political Training Course) from 30th September to 9th October 1976 at 5 Dr Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi-110001.

7. Joined Janata Dal-1990 and contested election from 55th Tipaimukh (ST) A/C and was elected to the 5th Manipur Legislative Assembly, become Minister-Health and Family Welfare in ULF Ministry and remained upto 7.1.1992 and re-inducted as Minister Public Health Engineer, in the Congress led Coalition Ministry from 10-06-1992 to 31-12-1993.
8. Contested from II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency (ST) in the 12th Lok Sabha Election as RJD Candidate and was defeated.
9. President, The Hmar Inpui (Hmar Supreme House) ( 2007-2009)
