Joint CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship (NET) December-2012

The Test will be held in the subjects as given under:
1. Chemical Sciences,
2. Earth Sciences
3. Life Sciences
4. Mathematical Sciences
5. Physical Sciences

Education Qualification

M.Sc. or Equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned in para 2.1 above, with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.

A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (Last Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. OR equivalent Degree Examination in subjects mentioned in para 2.1 above during the academic Session 2011-2012. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year(Last Semester where Semester system is there) M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination. However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the
Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame.

AGE LIMIT& RELAXATION
For JRF (NET): Minimum 19 Years and maximum 28 years as on 01-12-2012 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants).

For LS (NET): Minimum 19 years, as on 01.12.2012. No upper age limit.

Date and scheme of the CSIR UGC Test

The test will be held at 26 centres spread all over India, as specified below: Bangalore, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Karaikudi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pilani, Pune, Raipur Roorkee, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Varanasi.

A candidate may opt for any of the above centres. No request for change of centre would ordinarily be granted

How to apply

The application form and information bulletin for this test will be available in the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce from 21st August, 2012 to 18th September, 2012

The candidate applying online will be required to deposit the requisite examination fee through bank challan in any of the Indian bank branches throughout the country

In order to apply Online the candidates are required to download Bank challan Performa from the above website and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches throughout the country. The examination fee for the Online application is same as mentioned in Para-5.1.1 above. Candidates after successfully submitting application online are required to take print out of the Application Form, paste his/her recent black & white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach requisite certificates and send alongwith CSIR marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan in an envelope to Sr. Controller of Examinations, Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 so as to reach on or before24th September, 2012 (for remote areas 01st October, 2012).

Online applications without hard copy or bank challan receipt or incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected. Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available at CSIR, HRDG website.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII on 18.11.2012. Candidates can apply On-line for CTET-NOV 2012 on CBSE/CTET website.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

NCERT National Talent Search Examination 2012-13

National Talent Search Scheme is a flagship activity of the NCERT started in the year 1963. The purpose of the scheme was to identify talented students and nurture their talent. Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas.

This year NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X

Scholarships: On the basis of the National Talent Search Examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded

1. Scholarships: On the basis of the examination conducts, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for class-X examination. The amount of scholarship will be Rs 500/- per month as per NTS rules
2. Reservation: 15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged group of students

3. Selection: There will be two stage selection process for award of scholarship

Stage- I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination

Students, who qualify Stage-I, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT

4. Eligibility: All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located

There will be no domicile restriction

UGC NET (June) Notification 2012

The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 24th JUNE 2012 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and college.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :

i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

iii) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

iv) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects in item No. 9, may appear in a related subject.

v) Candidates seeking concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC(Non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PH/VH certificate along with online printout of their Application Forms (obtained while applying on-line). Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility alongwith printout of their Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the Commission at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

vi)  Candidates with post-graduate diploma/certificate course(s), should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their course(s) with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. (www.aiuweb.org)

EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP) :

i) NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/Institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

ii) The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in NET.

iii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/ colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET.

Christian Medical College, Vellore, will hold the entrance examination for admission to MBBS, B.Sc in Nursing and Allied Health Services Degree Courses (Group-A) and Diploma in Nursing, AHS Diploma Course and Analytical Clinical Pharmacology, M.Sc & DCPC courses (Group-B) at the Institute, on 18th May, 2012 at Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Puducherry, Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Vellore, Vijayawada and Penang (Malaysia).

Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification prescribed is an equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English

MBBS: A candidate for admission to medical course "must have 60%@ marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have  an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English". (as per state & University guidelines) (@60% in each and 130/200 aggregate for BC; 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC; and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates).  (BC,  MBC,  SC/ST  as  defined  by  the  TN  Govt;  all  rules subject to change as per State & University guidelines) Example: If a candidate has 72% in Biology, 66% in Chemistry and 70% in Physics, then the aggregate works out to: {72 + (66 +70)/2} or {72 + 68} out of 200, i.e. 140/200 and is eligible. However, a candidate with 68 in Biology, 72 in Chemistry and 70  in Physics will have only {68+ (72+70)/2} on 200 or {68+71} on 200 i.e. 139/200 and is not eligible.

B.Sc Nursing: Candidates should have a pass with 45% aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). (Only unmarried Women candidates are eligible to apply.

Age: For all Group-A courses, applicants should have been born on or before 31st December, 1995

JNU Admissions 2012-13 Announced

The prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has announced its admission process for the 2012-13 academic session. It is for the first time that the varsity has introduced an online application process and the sale and submission of application forms, both online and offline will start from February 6, 2012.

Entrance examinations will be conducted by the University for admission to various programmes, including Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination on behalf of participating universities in 52 cities across India and in Kathmandu on May 22, 23, 24 and 25.

The online application process will starts from 10am on February 6 and candidates can apply online by logging on to JNU website www.jnu.ac.in or www.jnuonline.in. The website also offers the details of application and entrance examination fee and hence will remain open from 10:00 AM (IST) on 6th February, 2012 till 5:00 PM (IST) on 21st March, 2012. Students also have the facility to make online payment, she added.

Candidates without internet access can obtain a set of application form and prospectus through post by sending a crossed Bank Draft for Rs.300/- drawn in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi. A self addressed (unstamped) envelope of the minimum size of 30 cms x 25 cms should also be send along with the draft by clearly indicating the programme of study for which the application form is required to the Section Officer (Admissions), Room No.28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067.

ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS TO APPEAR IN THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION GENERAL:

A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS course is eligible to take the entrance examination if he/she fulfills the following criteria:

  • A candidate should be a citizen of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin migrated fro'm Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention of permanently settling in India.

  • Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.

  • Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence

  • Must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations).


Academic Qualifications:

Candidate must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examinations as a regular candidate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.

Number of Seats:

A total of 130 students (105 boys & 25 girls) will be admitted.

Syllabus For the Examination:

The general standard of the entrance examination will be that of 11th and 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/pre-medical/intermediate science or an equivalent examination of the State Education Board/Indian University

Admission Procedure:

The course commences in the month of August. Advertisements for recruitment appear in the leading news papers of the country in the month of December every year, for MBBS course. Candidates are required to submit their application forms in the prescribed format, along with other necessary documents mentioned therein.

The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognised by the Medical Council of India.

Admission to MBBS course is based on written examination. The written examination is held on 1st Sunday of May. Successful candidates are called for interview in June for the courses starting in July. Admission is subject to medical fitness.

PROSPECTUS AVAILABILITY:

Prospectus is available on sale at all Major City GPOs/ HPO's/ Pos fro'm the date of advertisement for approximately one month. The present cost of the prospectus is Rs. 250/-.

Course Duration:

The duration of MBBS course is four and a half year followed by internship of one year.

Method of Selection:

  • Candidates who are found provisionally eligible as per the criteria of eligibility, will be called at one of the examination centres to appear in the competitive examination on 1st Sunday of May. Issue of admit cards. however does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility which will be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of selection.

  • The written examination centre will be allotted to candidates depending upon the administrative arrangements for the examination and availability of adequate seating capacity.

  • The Roll Number of the candidates who qualify for interview based on the above written examination will be published in the leading newspapers. The college/DGAFMS take no responsibility for any error or omission in the roll numbers published in the newspapers.


Interview of Candidate:

  • On the basis of their performance in the written examination selected candidates in order of roll numbers will be called for an interview to be held in the month of June at AFMC, PUNE.

  • The exact date of the above interview will be intimidated to the selected candidates. Request for change of date of interview will NOT be entertained. The candidates will be required to produce originals of all certificates/mark sheets at the time of interview. All candidates will produce result or proof of having appeared in the qualifying examination held, at the time of interview (if the result of such examination has not been declared).

  • On the basis of the above test and interview two merit lists, one for boys and one for girls, will be drawn up and admissions will be offered only to candidates in accordance with their merit position. Individual letters of admission will be sent only to selected candidates who would be required to join AFMC. The remaining candidates will be on waiting list. The result will be published by the DGAFMS in the newspapers.


SC/ST Candidates:

  • Ten seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates provided :

  • The SC/ST candidates must qualify in the written examination and come within the zone to be called up for interview.

  • They must come within the first 500 in the final combined merit list of boys and girls.


MEDICAL STANDARDS:

  • The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free fro'm any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty in the Armed Forces.

  • Medical examination will be done by a Board of Officers at AFMC Pune, prior to admission to the College. Medical Board will categorize as Fit and Unfit, in accordance with the prescribed standards. Candidates declared as UNFIT are entitled to appeal on payment of a fee of Rs. 40/-. The procedure will be intimated to the concerned candidates by the President of the Medical Board.

FACILITIES PROVIDED TO THE STUDENTS:

HOSTEL FACILITY: The college is fully residential and residence in the hostel is compulsory for all students with service liability. Separate boys and girls hostels are located in the college campus. The hostel accommodation is free of charge for service liability candidates. If a student is removed fro'm service liability on account of being found medically unfit for commission or on disciplinary/academic grounds he/she will have to make his/her own arrangements for stay.

MESSING FACILITY: All students residing in the hostel are required to join the mess attached to the hostel. Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food is served in a common combined mess for both boys and girls cadets.

Eligibility Criteria : (a) Integrated Pre Ph.D. Course

(i) Candidates securing 55% marks or above or equivalent grade in Master Degree Examination of a recognized University are only eligible to apply for admission to One semester Integrated Pre Ph.D. Course work for registration to M.Phil/Ph.D. programme of the University. Relaxation of marks for SC/ST categories shall be as per Govt. of India rules (ii) Candidates with M.Phil Degree fro'm any recognized University with explicit proof of qualifying in the course work of minimum one semester duration can also apply for provisional registration to Ph. A candidate seeking admission to D.Sc. / D.Litt must have Ph.D. or an equivalent degree fro'm Assam University or fro'm any other recognized Indian University or a foreign university in the concerned discipline and must be a serving or retired teacher in the University system. He/She must have served as a teacher for a minimum period of 5 years and have at least 5 years of research experience after Ph.D.

Assam University, Silchar payable at SBI, NIT Branch, Silchar or UCO Bank, AUS Branch, must be submitted alongwith the application form as application fee. However, SC/ST candidates need not pay application fee. The last date of submission of duly filled in Admission form to the respective departments is 06 January 2012. RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme-2012

To encourage learning about the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) among the youth of the country, the RBI conducts a major awareness and sensitization exercise on the role of the Reserve Bank and the banking system across the country. This exercise, ‘RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme’ exposes youngsters to an actual banking and financial environment and inculcates a sense of pride in the selected ones of having had the opportunity to associate themselves with a prestigious organisation, the central bank of the country.

1. Eligibility

(A) Educational Qualification: All students across India who have completed 10 + 2 years of formal education or its equivalent fro'm recognized institutions/boards in 2011 or before and are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies. However, those having enrolled for or having acquired degree(s) higher than graduation will not be eligible. Candidates who have qualified and worked at RBI as a Young Scholar in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply again.

(B) Age: Candidates should be of age 18 years or more but less than 23 years as on September 1, 2011.

2. Number of Seats

A maximum of 150 young scholars would be awarded scholarship by the RBI every year under the scheme. Out of these, a maximum of 50 candidates may be selected through a test conducted in English medium. The rest, up to a maximum number of 100, shall be selected on regional basis through a test conducted in vernacular medium.

3. Entrance Examination

The entrance exam will be conducted in English, Hindi and 11 other regional languages. The regional languages will be Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The exam will be held at around 100 different locations spread all across the country. The indicative List of Centres is given in this notification.

4. Examination Pattern

The examination will be of objective type with multiple choices for answers. The paper will be of approximately 90 minutes duration and will have questions related to role and functioning of the RBI, the trend of banking industry in India and general economic and financial environment of the country.

5. How to prepare for the Exam

6. Placements and Project Assignment

The selected All India candidates and the Regional Candidates will be placed at the nearest Regional Office designated for the purpose, depending on the size of the office. The selected candidates will be required to work within the RBI on projects/assignments allocated to them by the respective Regional Director of RBI. They will be expected to complete the same in a reasonable time, subject to a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 3 calendar months.

7. Stipend

During their stint with the RBI, they will be paid a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs.7500/- per head. For broken periods, the amount will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

8. Accommodation

During their stay with the RBI, the selected scholars who do not have a place to reside at the centre of placement will be assisted with accommodation for the duration of their project.

13. Call Letter for the Written Test

Call letters for the written test to be held on January 29, 2012 can be downloaded fro'm the RBI website on or after January 12, 2012. Call letters will not be dispatched by post or courier. To download the call letter candidates should know their application registration number which will also be sent by e-mail to the candidates who provide a valid email-id. Call letters can be downloaded fro'm RBI’s website by entering the registration number & password or date of birth.. After downloading of the call letter a recent photograph should be pasted on the call letter and signed across by the candidate before appearing for the examination. Three copies of the same photograph affixed on the call letter should be retained for use at the time of written examination. Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the selection process is complete. Failure to produce the same photograph at the time of written test may lead to disqualification.



GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS


a) Before applying for the scheme, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned in the advertisement. Decision of the RBI in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of examination, selection and any other matter relating to scheme will be final and binding on the candidate. The RBI in this regard shall entertain no correspondence or personal enquiries. In case it is detected at any stage of selection that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms, and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his / her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is / are detected even after selection, his / her scholarship / stipend are liable to be terminated.

b) Selected candidates should submit the following at the time of reporting:

(i) Attested photocopies of all the certificates in support of educational qualification, date of birth and caste / disability (if any).

(ii) Candidates, belonging to SC/ST/OBC category should submit an attested copy of their caste certificate issued by the competent authority and also produce original caste certificate / relevant certificates.

c) Candidates should be willing to stay anywhere in India for project work / assignment.

d) Any request for change of address will not be entertained.

e) Any dispute relating to this Scheme shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Mumbai only.

f) In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than English, English version will prevail.

g) No candidate is permitted to use calculator, telephones of any kind, pagers or any other such instruments.

h) The candidates, including SC/ST candidates will appear for the written examination at the allotted centres at their own expense.

l) The RBI/IBPS may at its discretion hold re-examination wherever necessary in respect of a centre / venue / specific candidate(s).

j) Final selection of the candidates is subject to his / her being medically fit as per the requirement of the RBI.

k) Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct :

Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while registering the information.

At the time of Written Examination if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of :

i) using unfair means during the examination or

ii)impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or

iii) misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question booklet/ answer sheet fro'm the examination hall or

iv) resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature by selection or

v) obtaining support for his / her candidature by any means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself / herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable :

a) to be disqualified fro'm the examination for which he/she is a candidate
b) to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, fro'm any examination or recruitment conducted by RBI/IBPS.


vi) The RBI would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. If as per the laid down procedure it is suspected that the responses have been shared and the scores obtained are not genuine / valid, the RBI / IBPS reserves the right to cancel his / her candidature.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2012

The  CBSE will be conducting the Eleventh All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE), Offline Examination on 29th April, 2012 (Sunday) and Online Examination for B.E./.B.Tech. only from 7th May to 26th May, 2012 for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technologies (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technologies (IIITs), Centrally funded Institutions, Deemed Universities and Institutions in States/UTs (Other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination) State Level Entrance Examination.

Eligibility : The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2012 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE 2012 provisionally.

Candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) in 2013 or passed in 2009 or before are not eligible to appear in AIEEE 2012.

 

Date of Birth : Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01,1987 are eligible. However in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Persons With Disability candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01,1982 are eligible.

Start of Online Registration: 15.11.2011 from 11:00 am onwards

 

Last Date : The last date for Online Registration is 31.12.2011, however receipt of confirmation page duly completed in CBSE will be 05.01.2012 by Registered/Speed Post only and not in person/courier. Use of address of any coaching institute is strictly prohibited. If anybody uses the address of any coaching institute his/her application form i.e. confirmation page will be rejected.

CSIR – UGC NET Notification 2012

In the month of December 2011, CSIR with collaboration of UGC is going to conduct NET examination. As you now that NET examination is such a window which open the door to become Lecturer in subject concerned or for Fellowship (JRF- NET) . In this regard applications through both ways (Online / Offline) were invited from eligible Indian Nationals.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

M.Sc. or Equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned in para 2.1 above, with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.

A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (Last Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. OR equivalent Degree Examination in subjects mentioned in para 2.1 above during the academic Session 2011-2012.  Such candidates will have to submit theattestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year(Last Semester where Semester system is there)  M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination.  However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally.

They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame. Students enrolled in integrated MS-Ph D. program are also eligible to apply for JRF in subject areas of NET. Their eligibility for Lectureship will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC.

AGE LIMIT& RELAXATION

For JRF (NET): Minimum 19 Years and maximum 28 years as on 01-07-2011 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants).

For LS (NET): Minimum 19 years, as on 01.07.2011.  No upper age limi

UGC NET (Dec 2011) Examination

UGC NET Dec 2011 exam will be held on December 24, 2011for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship. UGC Online applications for NET Dec 2011 are being invited.

Candidates applied for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)will be eligible for research work and will also eligible for lectureship after qualifying the exam. Candidates applied for lectureship will not be considered for JRF after qualifying the exam.

Candidates should clearly state in the NET exam for what they are applying both JRF & Lectureship OR only for Lectureship.

Eligibility: PG candidates with 55% marks in Master’s Degree are eligible for this exam.

Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing in the final year of Master’s degree and whose result is still awaited may also apply for this Test.

Ph.D. degree holders whose have pursued their Master degree by 19th September, 1991 (date of result announcement), they should have secured 50% in PG and they will be eligible for appearing in NET.

Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their PG only. Candidates, whose PG subject is not available in the list of UGC subjects, may appear in a related subject.

UGC NET Online registration has been started from26th Sep 2011 and will be closed on Oct. 25, 2011. Last date for receipt of documents at the test center is Oct. 31, 2011. Already registered candidates can apply online directly. If not registered yet, they should register first.

Examination fee is Rs. 450. Fee for OBC is Rs. 225 and for SC/ST/PH/VH, it is Rs. 110. Fee should be submitted through Bank Challan Form.

Two copies of printout of online application, 1 copy of Attendance Slip and 1 copy of Admission Card alongwith required documents must be sent to “the Registrar of the University (UGC Test Centre)”.

Envelope containing the Form should be superscribed as “UGC National Eligibility Test For Junior Research Fellowship And Eligibility For Lectureship, December 2011”.

Candidates must affix their recent same passport size photos on the printout of NET Online Application and must sign across the photo after it is affixed so that a part of the sign spreads over the Form beyond the photo. It should be attested.

UGC PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC & ST candidates 2011-2012

University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of  1000  PG Scholarships under the scheme of PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC & ST candidates for the year 2011-2012 to undertake postgraduate level studies in professional subjects like Engineering & Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc. on regular basis only.

Only those candidates who have been admitted in postgraduate professional subjects at recognised universities/colleges during the academic session 2011-12 are eligible to apply under the scheme.

Eligibility:
Candidates can apply and appear for the TISS National Entrance Test for a maximum of three programmes.

(a) A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline. OR

(b) Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 9, 2012, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes (except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies) provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. Candidates applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary) programme should complete all the requirements by May 11, 2012. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.

(c) Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have a (i) Master’s degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.

(d) Candidates applying for the Master of Health Administration andHospital Administration should have (i) successfully completed their graduate degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.

(e) Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s degree programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s degree programmes conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration, Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy,Economics and Finance.

(f) Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practiceshould have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

(g) Medical graduates should complete their internship on or before Saturday, June 9, 2012. Otherwise, their candidature/admission stands cancelled.

Applications are invited fro'm Indian nationals for nominations fro'm India for award of Commonwealth Scholarships in United Kingdom tenable fro'm September/ October 2012 for higher studies /research /specialized training in the subjects mentioned below in the United Kingdom. Upto Sixty (60) nominations are to be sent to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission for final selection to be made by them. Out of these not more than twenty five (25) are for doctoral studies

SIX MONTHS OF CLINICAL TRAINING (For MBBS, BDS,MS, MD degree holders only who have qualified as MBBS and BDS between 1st October, 2002 and 30th September, 2007).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An IELTS test will only be considered valid if taken after 1st October 2011 and before 6th March 2012.

(B) FOR Ph.D. DEGREE

One should hold or able to produce the certificate of Master’s Degree by October 2012 in the concerned subject fields (indicated above) securing 60% or above marks in Humanities and Social Science group and 65% or above marks in the relevant subjects in Medical, Engineering and Technology, Science and Agriculture Group.

VALUE OF AWARD

Each scholarship provides: -

(A) Student concessionary or other approved airfare to the United Kingdom by the most direct and economical route and return on expiry of the scholarship (the cost of journey made before receipt of award will not normally be reimbursed nor can fares be paid for a scholar’s dependents).

(B) Approved tuition and examination fees.

(C) A personal maintenance allowance at the rate of 882 pound per month (1091 pound per month for those studying at institutions in the London Metropolitan area)

(D) A grant towards the expenses of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable.

(E) An initial arrival allowance, incorporating in initial clothing grant for scholars fro'm tropical countries.

(F) A grant for expenses for approved travel within the United Kingdom or overseas.

(G) A grant towards fieldwork costs for those Scholars undertaking doctoral studies for whom a case has been made for fieldwork outside the United Kingdom. This shall not normally exceed one economy class return airfare to the fieldwork location.

(H) A paid mid-term fare to their home country for Scholars on three years doctoral awards. Scholars for whom fieldwork fares are provided to their home country shall not be entitled to a mid-term fare home, nor Scholars who have claimed (or intend to claim) spouse or child allowances for more than 12 months during their award.

(I) For married Scholars selected by the Commission for awards exceeding 18 months, a marriage allowance of 220 pound per month is payable provided that the husband and wife (of civil partners) are residing together at the same address in the United Kingdom. It is not paid when a husband or wife (or civil partner) of the Scholar is also in receipt of an award.
For such married couples accompanied by their children, a child allowance is payable at the rate of 138 pound per month for the first child and 108 pound per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, provided they are residing with their parents. The Commission’s spouse and family allowances represent only a contribution towards the cost of family maintenance in the UK and Scholars should expect and be able to supplement these allowances to support family members who choose to come to the UK. Irrespective of the length of the award, a scholar who is widowed, divorced or a lone parent will receive an allowance in respect of the first accompanying children and child allowances for the second and third accompanying children.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :

1. A candidate may apply for only one subject of his/her choice.

2. As a condition of award, the Commission or a host institution in Britain may also require a candidate to take particular English Tests and/or training in English.

3. The final selection of the nominated candidates rests with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in U.K.

4. Nomination of a candidate by Government of India does not guarantee final selection or placement. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission will make its own selection out of overall nominees recommended by all the participating countries in the programme.

5. Application must be accompanied by attested copies of certificates regarding date of birth, diplomas, degrees, mark sheets in respect of all the examination passed alongwith experience certificate of Employment (if any) and one copy of recently taken passport size photograph with signature (to be pasted on application form). Self attested certificates will not be accepted.

7. Applicants already holding a Doctoral Degree or about to obtain will not be considered. Candidates who have already done a Ph.D. in India or abroad are not considered.

8. Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training/specialization either on scholarships or on their own, for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after returning fro'm abroad as on 12.10.2011. Applications of candidates who are already abroad will not be considered.

9. In case of candidates qualifying fro'm Universities, where grades are awarded, the candidates are required to furnish exact percentage of marks and indicate the conversion formula.

10. Candidates will be expected to have some knowledge of India and of the donor country.

11. Candidates who are employed must apply through their employers. Candidates belonging to the All India Services should send their applications through their Cadre Controlling Authority. No Objection Certificate fro'm Employer should be submitted on or before the time of interview. Otherwise candidates will not be allowed to appear for interview and no TA will be given.

12. It is very important that applicants who are in employment to which they wish to return after completion of their studies in UK should have an assurance fro'm their Organisation that if their nomination is successful, they will be granted sufficient leave of absence. In general, a candidate undertaking research for a Ph.D. can be expected to need 36 months study in the United Kingdom even though in the first instance, the award will only be offered for one or two years.

13. While indicating the period of past experience and stay abroad, candidates should mention the specific dates.

14. As these scholarships are offered by Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in UK the applications should be submitted in English only.

15. Applications in subject-fields other than those specified in the advertisement will not be considered.

16. Candidates who do not possess the essential qualification need not apply.

17. Candidates must furnish a clear and precise programme of study/research (minimum 500 words) justifying that their study/research can be carried out in the United Kingdom. Candidates are advised to describe their plan for study/research proposals carefully as these will be a primary condition in selection both PG/Ph.D course.

In case no interview letter is received by an applicant by 15th November, 2011, it may be presumed that he/she has not been short listed by the Selection Committee. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Candidates are expected to state up to three preferred institutions(s) on the application form, but the final decision on host institution will be made by the Commission. Candidates are advised to submit independent applications directly to their preferred institutions at the same time as applying for this Scholarship. Where formal offers of admission have been obtained, these should be included with the application.

All candidates applying for Doctoral Study must provide the commission with evidence of support fro'm a prospective supervisor at atleast one of their chosen Institutions at the time of application. So, if such support letter is not submitted at the time of interview, he/she will not be allowed to appear before the interview and no TA will be given.

University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications for the award of PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship 2011-13 for Single Girl Child. Online registrations have been started for UGC Scholarship 2011.

Scholarships will be provided with the purpose of supporting PG education to such girls who happen to be the only child in the family.

Applicants should be admitted in PG 1st year regular degree course 2011-12.

National Talent Search Examination 2012

National Talent Search Scheme is a flagship activity of the NCERT started in the year 1963. The purpose of the scheme was to identify talented students and nurture their talent.  Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas.  The scheme, therefore, covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law.  It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship.  For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level.  For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.  The NCERT conducts the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class VIII only.


1. Scholarships: On the basis of the examination conducts, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for class-VIII examination. The amount of scholarship will be Rs 500/- per month as per NTS rules


2. Reservation: 15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged group of students


3. Selection: There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by states/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT


4. The States/UTs will also conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme along with the Stage-I written examination for NTS.


5. Important Dates


Stage I (State)


Last date for submission of Application Form: 31st August, 2011


Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 19th November, 2011 (Saturday)


Examination in all other states and UTs: 20st November, 2011 (Sunday)


Stage II (National)


Examination in all states and UTs: 13th May, 2012 (Sunday)


Note: However, dates for Stage- I examination may vary fro'm State to State.


 


6. Eligibility: Students of Class VIII studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the respective Class VIII Stage I examination conducted by the States/UTs in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.


7. Examination: The pattern of written examination for Class VIII will be as follows:


• Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics.


• Stage II examination at the National level will comprise (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics, (c) Interview. Only those candidates who qualify the written examination at the National Level will be invited for interview.


8. State Quotas: Each State/Union Territory has been allotted a quota to recommend a specific number of candidates for the Stage II examination, the details of which will be made available on NCERT website. However, there will be no State/Union Territory Quota for the final award of scholarship after the Stage II examination. Reservation for SC, ST and physically challenged will be as notified in para 2 above.


 


9. NTSE Application Form: You may contact the State/UT Liaison officer for procuring application form. However, application form can be downloaded fro'm NCERT website http://www.ncert.nic.in also. All correspondence relating to application forms should be addressed to the State Liaison Officers (LOs) whose addresses are given at the end/Website.


10. The completed application form duly signed by Principal of the school should be submitted to the LO/ concerned district official of the State before the last date.


11. Fees: States and Union Territories may notify the fee required which will be paid for the Stage-I examination. Therefore, before submitting the application form you may find out the fees charged for 2010 stage-I examination and also the mode of payment fro'm the respective State Liaison officers, (LOs). However, NCERT does not charge any fee for Stage-II examination


12. Announcement of Results: NTSE Results of the Stage-I examination will be announced by the respective State Governments/ Union Territories. Results of Stage-II examination will be announced by NCERT.


13. Indian Students Studying Abroad can appear directly for Stage II NTS Examination under conditions prescribed in the NTS brochure for class VIII which is available on the NCERT website. Candidates may fill up relevant items of the Application Form available on the NCERT website and send to the undersigned along with a photocopy of the mark sheet of previous examination latest by March 31st, 2012
