Tuiṭhaphai, April 22, 2025, Virthli(ONP): The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently declared the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, one of India’s most competitive and prestigious exams. Among the 1,009 successful candidates, only one hails from Manipur - Jerry Lalhratthang Buongpui who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 999.
Jerry Lalhratthang Buongpui, a native of Tuithaphai/Churachandpur is the son of Mr. Buongneikung Buongpui and Mrs. Thansingpui. He belongs to the Hmar community. He completed his graduation from St. Edmund’s College, Shillong, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Political Science from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong.
While ten candidates from Manipur cleared the UPSC CSE 2023, this year, Jerry stands as the lone qualifier from the state, marking a proud moment for his family and community.
