Aizawl, November 5, 2025: The Hmar Inpui, Mizoram Region, has issued a press communique condemning the actions of Mr. Lalrosiem of Ramhlun North, who allegedly circulated misinformation through Zalen News and other media outlets while claiming to be the President of the Hmar People’s Convention (HPC).
The organization clarified that the HPC is a political party duly recognized by the Election Commission of India and that the legitimate leadership was determined following an internal election held on November 5, 2020, under the guidance of Hmar Inpui, Mizoram Region, in compliance with Court Judgement Order Memo No. 364 Sr.C J-III(A)/2020 dated September 9, 2020.
In that election, Mr. Rohringa, son of the late Pu Chhunga of Khatla, Aizawl, was duly elected as the party’s President for a five-year term. The party’s assembly is now preparing to hold fresh elections on November 5, 2025.
Hmar Inpui stated that the recent remarks and actions of Mr. Lalrosiem contradict the community’s judicially recognized decision and foster disunity. The body urged the competent authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent such misleading activities in the future.
