Ukhrul, August 2, 2025: A high-level 10-member team comprising senior officials from the Planning & Finance and Health Departments conducted an on-site assessment of the ongoing PM-DevINE Superspeciality Project at District Hospital, Ukhrul.
Led under the supervision of Dr. Chambo Gonmei, Director of Health Services, the team reviewed construction works for the Operation Theatre (OT), Trauma Unit, Superspeciality OPD, and the NCD Block, all of which were found to be progressing satisfactorily.
During the visit, the officials held detailed discussions with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Medical Superintendent (MS), engineering teams, and hospital staff. Key focus areas included infrastructure quality, equipment procurement, and human resource readiness. The team also laid emphasis on ensuring structural alignment with the hospital’s future Outpatient Department (OPD) services.

Expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, the officials reiterated the importance of completing the project within the scheduled 2-year timeline. A quarterly follow-up visit will be undertaken to ensure steady progress and operational preparedness.
The PM-DevINE Superspeciality Project is expected to significantly enhance advanced healthcare access in the Ukhrul region.
