MPCC President Criticizes Mizoram CM and MPs for Silence Over Kerala Nun Arrests

Speaking at a party meeting held at Congress Bhavan today, Pu Lal Thanzara expressed deep disappointment that, while Congress leaders at the national level have vocally condemned the mistreatment and arrest of the Christian nuns - accused of attempting religious conversion and mistreating the sick - the Mizoram Chief Minister and MPs have remained completely silent on the matter.

He described this lack of response as disgraceful and questioned the sincerity of their representation of the Christian-majority state. He stated that even as ordinary citizens have condemned the treatment of the nuns, the elected leaders' silence is both painful and unacceptable.

Pu Lal Thanzara further pointed out that newly appointed BJP state president Dr. K. Beichhua himself is a church elder, and said it was shameful that he, too, failed to speak out at such a critical moment.
