Itanagar, July 1, 2025: In a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and the nation, Kago Harie, a young athlete from Ziro in Lower Subansiri district, has clinched a Gold Medal at the prestigious International World Cup Powerlifting Championship held in Moscow on June 29, 2025.
Representing India in the junior men’s 83 kg category, Kago Harie displayed exceptional strength and determination, emerging as the top performer in his division. His powerful performance on the global stage has not only brought honour to his hometown and family but has also highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s growing pool of sports talent.
The son of Kago Tangung and Aja, Harie’s achievement has earned praise from across the country, including Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who congratulated him on social media.
