Agartala, July 6, 2025: On the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha paid heartfelt tribute to the late leader, recognizing his immense contributions to India's post-independence nation-building efforts.
Speaking at a commemorative event organized by the ICA Department, Dr. Saha hailed Dr. Mukherjee as a towering figure of intellect, leadership, and sacrifice. He lauded the multifaceted legacy of the statesman, who served as India's first Industry Minister, Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, Mayor of Calcutta, President of the Hindu Mahasabha, and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister declared that the Agartala Town Hall will be renamed in Dr. Mukherjee’s honor. A marble statue of the leader will also be erected to inspire future generations and commemorate his dedication to national unity and integrity.
