Aizawl, June 25, 2025: Mizoram has achieved a major milestone in digital governance, with 6,492 official files already created under the state's e-Office system, according to Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana.
At a press briefing today, the minister announced that the Mizoram e-Office system - developed at a cost of ₹1.99 crore with funding from the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) - is being effectively used to streamline government file processing and administration.
Dr. Vanlalthlana stated that the 6,492 e-files created so far have already been moved or processed 63,565 times, reflecting active adoption and usage across departments. The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DP&AR) serves as the nodal department for implementing the e-Office system, while the ICT Department is responsible for its execution.

“The e-Office not only facilitates faster movement and tracking of files but also improves transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance,” said Dr. Vanlalthlana.
He emphasized that the system reduces bureaucratic delays and offers better oversight over important state matters, marking a significant leap in Mizoram's digital transformation journey.
