Imphal, June 19, 2025: Security forces continued their intensified operations across Manipur, conducting extensive search and area domination in both hill and valley districts. Multiple arrests of insurgents and recoveries of arms and ammunition marked a significant step in maintaining law and order in the conflict-hit state.
During a search operation in Heibonglok hill under Sekmai Police Station, Imphal West, forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, and tactical gear. Items recovered include a modified .303 rifle with magazine, two single-barrel rifles, 11 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 10 live rounds of 12 bore, multiple grenades (including Chinese and HEDP types), magazines for LMGs and INSAS rifles, Baofeng handsets, bulletproof covers and plates, and helmets.
In another major development, Manipur Police arrested two active cadres of the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) from Wangoi Bazar, Imphal West. The arrested individuals, Leimapokpam Somendro Singh (47) of Bishnupur and Tayenjam Haridas (44) of Imphal West, were apprehended with mobile phones, wallets, Aadhaar cards, a TVS Jupiter scooter, and some cash.
Meanwhile, on the Indo-Myanmar border near BP-87 in Tengnoupal District, central forces arrested one cadre each from the proscribed UNLF (K) and PREPAK (Pro). The individuals were identified as Mangshatabam Sharatchandra Meitei (27) and Keisham Tokio alias Toklaoba (24), both hailing from Imphal East.
On the same day, security forces arrested Thoudam Doren Singh (32), an active member of the KCP (PWG), from Sekmaijing Khunou under Hiyanglam Police Station in Kakching District. He was reportedly involved in extortion activities targeting shops, oil pumps, and hardware businesses in valley areas. A mobile phone and wallet with identification documents were recovered from him.
On June 18, a woman cadre of the KCP (PSC), identified as Pheiroijam Chitrapyari Devi (21) alias Lamngakpi alias Ichantombi, was arrested from Phaknung Thongkhong under Lamlai PS, Imphal East. She hails from Sagolband, Imphal West.
In Bishnupur District, a PREPAK cadre, Nameirakpam Dhamen Singh (49), was arrested from Kwakta Terakhongshangbi Bazar. Recovered from his residence were large quantities of ammunition of various calibres, magazines, and a Hyundai i10 vehicle.

Additionally, Manipur Police nabbed an active UPPK cadre, Pheiroijam Lalmohan Singh (33), near the DC Office Gate in Porompat, Imphal East. A country-made semi-automatic gun and a 7.62 mm SLR magazine were seized from him.
These ongoing operations reflect the heightened vigilance and firm response by the security establishment in curbing insurgent activities and restoring peace across Manipur.
