Kuki Students’ Organisation Mourns Tragic Death of Lamnunthem Singson in Air India Crash

Churachandpur, June 13, 2025: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) General Headquarters has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic and untimely demise of Ng. (L) Lamnunthem Singson, who was among the victims of the Air India Boeing 787 AI-171 plane crash that occurred on June 12, 2025. The ill-fated flight was en route from Ahmedabad to London.

In an official condolence message, the KSO GHQ conveyed its deep shock and grief at the loss of Lamnunthem Singson, describing her as an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) who had been forced to relocate from Old Lambulane, Imphal to Kanggui, Sadar Hills, following the outbreak of the ongoing state-sponsored conflict in Manipur that began on May 3, 2023.

KSO stated that the young woman’s death has not only shaken her family and the community but also stands as a painful reminder of the continuing struggles faced by displaced communities in the region. The organisation extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, offering prayers for strength, comfort, and peace.

The statement also acknowledged the loss of other passengers, including medical students of BJ Medical College, and conveyed sympathy to all families affected by the tragedy.

“Rest in Peace, Ng. (L) Lamnunthem Singson,” the statement concluded solemnly.
