Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla Mourns Loss of Manipuri Cabin Crew in Air India Tragedy

Imphal | June 14, 2025: Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, has expressed his profound grief over the tragic deaths of Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson, two young cabin crew members from Manipur, who lost their lives in the recent Air India AI-171 crash near Ahmedabad.

In a heartfelt condolence message, the Governor conveyed his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims, describing the incident as a devastating loss not only to their loved ones but also to the wider Manipuri community. The ill-fated Boeing 787 flight, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, 2025, claiming the lives of passengers and crew.

Governor Bhalla remembered Nganthoi and Lamnunthem as dedicated and courageous professionals, praising their grace and commitment in service. He said their lives represented the dreams, determination, and resilience that are the hallmark of Manipur's youth.
