Guwahati, June 19, 2025: In a continued push for transparent and merit-based recruitment, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed appointment letters to 481 newly recruited candidates at a ceremonial function held at Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium, Panjabari, Guwahati.
The recruitment spans three key departments:
• Animal Husbandry & Veterinary: 443 Veterinary Field Assistants
• Tourism: 12 Tourism Development Officers
• Education: 23 Lecturers (District Institute of Education & Training), 3 Assistant Directors (SCERT)
With this latest batch, the total number of government appointments since 2021 has reached 1,20,840, reflecting the state government's commitment to fulfilling its “1 Lakh+ Jobs” promise under the leadership of Dr. Sarma.
“Today, 481 youths from across Assam received appointment letters. That’s 481 families whose dreams were fulfilled in a single day,” the Chief Minister posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Since 2021, over 1.20 lakh youths have secured government jobs in a free and fair manner.”
The event was graced by several cabinet ministers, including Dr. Ranoj Pegu (Education), Shri Ranjeet Kumar Dass (Tourism), and Shri Krishnendu Paul (Animal Husbandry & Veterinary), highlighting the multi-departmental nature of the recruitment drive.
