Guwahati, June 18, 2025: In a significant move towards strengthening the state’s healthcare system and promoting youth employment, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today handed over appointment letters to 400 newly recruited Medical and Health Officers at a special function held at the GMCH Auditorium, Bhangagarh.

The recruitment, described as time-bound, fair, and transparent, is part of the Assam Government’s ongoing commitment to merit-based public employment and youth empowerment. With this batch of appointments, the total number of government jobs provided under the current administration has reached an impressive 1,20,359.
“We have freed our youth from the baggage of the past where corruption ruled public recruitment,” said Chief Minister Sarma in a social media statement. “Today marks another step forward in our vision of a progressive, employment-rich Assam.”
The recruitment drive was conducted through a rigorous process, ensuring deserving candidates were selected based on merit. This latest batch of Medical and Health Officers is expected to play a key role in expanding and improving public health services across Assam, particularly in underserved and rural areas.
