Aizawl, June 16, 2025: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma today formally launched the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) Awareness & Benefit Saturation Camp at the Planning & Programme Implementation Conference Hall in Aizawl.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that over 94% of Mizoram’s population belongs to tribal communities, and emphasized that schemes introduced by the Central Government for tribal welfare directly benefit the state. He stated that state-level development initiatives also aim to uplift tribal populations, given the demographic composition of Mizoram.
Pu Lalduhoma appreciated the Union Government’s focused approach and said the state is committed to implementing the DAJGUA programme effectively. He assured that all eligible beneficiaries will receive proper support under the initiative.
Following his address, the CM interacted with stakeholders and listened to their feedback and suggestions.
DAJGUA is a flagship initiative of the Central Government, aimed at transforming tribal villages and empowering tribal communities through education, awareness, and delivery of government services. The campaign is aligned with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The initiative brings together 17 central line departments, which will work in convergence mode across 549 tribal-dominated districts of India. In Mizoram, 14 departments are involved in implementing the programme across 383 villages in 11 districts, benefiting over 45,000 people.
The event was attended by key ministers including Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama, PWD Minister Pu Vanlalhlana, EF&CC Minister Pu Lalthansanga, I&PR Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana, Horticulture Minister Prof. Lalnilawma, and Tourism Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar.

The session was chaired by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner of Finance & Planning. Pi Biakthansangi Hrahsel, Deputy Adviser cum Deputy Secretary, presented the report, while Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of Planning, delivered the vote of thanks and formally concluded the inaugural programme.
