New Delhi, June 16, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi today, strongly condemning the recent vandalism of Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home in Bangladesh.
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, sharing his concern on social media, described the act as “an affront to India’s cultural pride and Bengal’s soul.” He emphasized that Tagore is not only a revered literary figure in India but also the composer of Bangladesh’s national anthem.
“The extremism in Bangladesh is not only worsening but also damaging its own identity,” Dr. Saha stated, urging the Bangladeshi authorities to ensure such acts of cultural aggression are not repeated.
