Guwahati | June 10, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today chaired a high-level meeting with Ministers, MLAs from Barak Valley, and officials of the Barak Valley Development Department at Lok Sewa Bhawan.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of a Common Development Goal to ensure balanced growth across all three districts of the region. He emphasized the need for better coordination among departments to fast-track the installation of MRI facilities in Civil Hospitals.
Dr. Sarma also proposed the establishment of Barak Bhawan in Delhi and Kolkata, which would serve as cultural and administrative hubs for people from the Barak region.
Additionally, plans to host Barak Cultural and Sports Festivals were discussed to promote the valley’s rich heritage and foster youth engagement.

The meeting reflects the government’s continued focus on inclusive regional development and improved public infrastructure in Barak Valley.
