Guwahati, May 22, 2025, Virthli (ONP): In a significant blow to the drug trade, Assam Police conducted two successful anti-narcotics operations, seizing drugs worth ₹7.5 crore and arresting four suspected peddlers.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the development on X (formerly Twitter), praising the "precision, intelligence, and action" of the state police.
In the first operation, Karbi Anglong Police intercepted a vehicle and seized 2.977 kg of Morphine valued at ₹1.5 crore. Two individuals involved in the trafficking were taken into custody.
In a separate operation, Silchar’s Srirampur Police recovered 1.23 kg of Heroin, estimated to be worth ₹6 crore, from another vehicle. Two drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the seizure.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state’s resolve through the hashtag #AssamAgainstDrugs, highlighting the government’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking across the state.
