Tuithaphai, May 15, 2025, Virtgli(ONP): The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has issued a press statement distancing itself from a recent communication allegedly made by a group identifying as “Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers, Eastern Zone” regarding the Shiroy Lily festival.
In its statement, the Council emphasized that it does not endorse or recognize any unsolicited statements or actions by individuals or groups acting independently. It reaffirmed its role as a political platform committed to the collective and democratic interests of the Kuki-Zo community.
The Council also clarified that any such communication not officially sanctioned by it should not be construed as its position or policy.

The clarification comes in the wake of rising public attention surrounding the cultural festival and remarks reportedly made in the name of the community.
