Guwahati, May 21, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Kaziranga National Park (KNP), Assam’s iconic wildlife sanctuary and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has recorded a remarkable milestone by emerging as India’s third most visited national park, reflecting its growing international stature in wildlife conservation and eco-tourism.
Between October 1, 2024, and May 18, 2025, Kaziranga welcomed a total of 4,43,636 visitors, comprising 4,25,173 domestic tourists and 18,463 foreign visitors. The data also reveals a 25% increase in foreign tourist footfall, underscoring the park’s escalating global appeal.
The Assam government hailed this achievement as a proud symbol of the state’s natural heritage, wildlife conservation success, and sustainable eco-tourism initiatives. With lush landscapes, the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, and a well-managed safari experience, Kaziranga has captivated wildlife enthusiasts from across the globe.
Officials attribute the surge in tourism to enhanced visitor infrastructure, international outreach campaigns, and the park’s reputation as a biodiversity hotspot.
