MPCC pushes for resuming peace talks between Mizoram government and HPC(D)

Aizwal, :June 11, 2016 (PTI): The ruling Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) advocated resumption of peace talks between the state government and the Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic) and reaching amicable solution by this year, the 30th anniversary of the signing of the historic Mizo Accord.

The MPCC office bearers’ meeting chaired by Chief Minister and state PCC chief on Firday evening said that bringing peace in the insurgency-hit north eastern part of the state adjoining Manipur remained a matter of concern for the people living in the area and also for the ruling party.

The meeting also made special mention about scale of celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Mizo peace accord on June 30, 1986.
