The goal of the mass rally is threefold:
(a) To pressurize the Center and State government to swiftly act on the proposed tripartite talks (between the tribal leaders, State government and Centre government) regarding the three bills,
(b) to sensitize the larger national public about the nine unburied tribal martyrs-and-citizens of India and to create maximum exposure and awareness about the cause they died for, and
(c) to collectively mourn and pay respect to our departed brothers in a spirit of oneness and unity.
It was also agreed that each of the apex bodies and forums, both national and international, that have been taking up the cause of the tribals of Manipur, will be contacted with regard to the possibility of organizing a synchronized mass rally all over the country and the world, and their opinions will be sought and decisions respected.
As a mark of respect for our tribal martyrs, ALL of the tribal population residing in Delhi, are humbly requested to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the day (half-day) is kept free for a tribal mourning-cum-rally that Delhi has not yet witnessed.
Each student bodies, respected officers, elders and pastors, and the mothers and youths of all communities, are specially requested to join your brothers and sisters in a show of solidarity and strength.
Let us all prayerfully prepare to continue our fight for our lands, our rights and our identities.
