Ref. No. : 02/JAC/2015 Date :03/09/2015
To,
The Hon’ble Chief Minister’
Manipur.
Subject: Reactions to the three Bills passed by the Manipur State Assembly and the killings of innocent civilian in Churachandpur, Manipur. Regd.
Hon’ble Sir,
The Joint Action Committee formed against the recently passed Bills in Manipur State Assembly and killing of Eight innocent civilian in Churachandpur would like to draw your kind attention to the following facts;
That, the spontaneous reaction of the tribal against the recently passed Bills viz. the Protection of Manipur People’ Bill; the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seven Amendment) Bill, 2015; and Manipur Shop and Establishment(Second Amendment), Bill- once again, signifies the deep divide between the tribal and non-tribal or the valley and hill areas. The violent reaction and subsequent lost of lives and properties is unfortunate, yet it is the only option to express our displeasure against the anti-tribal policy of the Government. Thus, the said Bills must be either repeal or exceptional clause be inserted for the tribal of Manipur immediately.
That, that Eight innocent tribal made supreme sacrifices for the survival of their fellow tribal. Their life is no less precious than (L) Robinhood. The State Government must institute an Independent Judicial Enquiry and take appropriate action immediately. Until then all the death bodies shall not be laid to rest.
That, appropriate ex-gratia to the death and government job to next of kin; compensation be paid to the injured persons.
That, the JAC shall continues its democratic movements until satisfactory measures is taken by the Government.
On behalf of the JAC,
(H. MANGCHIN KHUP) (LALKHOHAO CHONGLOI)
