Twenty-two beauties for Miss Kut contest
Twenty two beauties belonging to different tribal communities in Manipur and Nagaland will take part in this year’s Miss Kut 2014 beauty pageant to be held during the annual state level kut festival in Imphal on November 1.This was announced by Spokesperson, of the state level Kut festival committee 2014, Mang Kipgen while addressing a press conference in Imphal on Sunday.
He also informed that all are set for the state level Kut festival, the annual post harvest festival of the Kuki Chin Mizo communities settling in the state. The grand occasion will be held at 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground in Imphal. A total of 11 tribal communities will perform their respective traditional music and dance sequences this year.
There will be two sessions of the festival-morning session and evening session.The first function which is scheduled to begin at 10 am in the morning will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, Gaikhangam while in the evening which was scheduled to begin at 5 pom will be attended by Chief Minister of Manipur O Ibobi. Mang further added that the entry from Kalimai Temple is reserved for the VIPs and the road from BSNL Bhavan is reserved for general public.
He also said there will be tight security in this festival and hence selective media persons will be allowed and they need to do prior registration. The winner of the Miss Kut 2014 will be given a cash award of one Lakh, the first runner up will get a cash award of Rs 75,000 and the second runner up title holder will get Rs 50,000 cash award. The participants of cultural programs will also be given first, second and third prizes of Rs 55,000, Rs 45,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively.A rehearsal programme of the Miss Kut 2014 contest was also held today.
