IMPHAL, Dec 17 : The President of India has appoin- ted Prof Nachane Dillip Madhukar as the second Chancellor of Manipur University for a period of five years with effect from November 4, 2011, MU Senior Public Relations Officer M Saratchandra said in a release.Prof Madhukar, MA (Eco) and MA (Maths), Ph D, is currently a Professor Emeritus in Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai.
He is also Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar National Fellow and Honorary Fellow, Institute of South Asian Studies, University of Singapore and Honorary Fellow of Indian School of Political Economy.
He was the Professor of Quantitative Economics (1978-2003), Director of Dept of Economics (1993-99) of University of Mumbai and Director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (2007-10).
