Sinlung Hills Development Council leaders asked the Govt. to reconstitute Sinlung Hills Development Council at an early date. Our Corr. understands that the HPC leaders led by their President, Lalrosiem met the Chief Minister, Mr. Lal Thanhawla in his office recently and requested him to reconstitute the Development Council. Meanwhile, other leaders of Hmar Peoples Convention also asked the Chief Minister to expedite reconstitution of the Development Council. It may be recalled that the Chairman of Sinlung Hills Development Council Mr. Malsawma Darngawn, the Vice Chairman, Mr. D. Hmangaiha and 16 members tendered their resignation to the Chief Minister on the 4th of March this year on the request of the HPC (D) militants. In the meantime, the HPC faction led by Lalrosiem described the initiative taken by some people for resumption of talks between the Govt. and the HPC (D) as baseless and confusing for the people.Source:zonet.in
