Boomerang, a band from Aizawl emerged as winner in the ‘Nokia Lords of Music’ contest participated by eight finalists from the four north-eastern states held in the music capital of Northeast-Shillong

About Boomerang:
Boomarang is a Rock band from Aizwal, Mizoram, formed in 2005. The band started out performing covers before moving on to original material. Soon the band released a debut EP titled 'Rhythm of A Revolution'. Their song 'War' was featured on the Stupid Ditties 3 compilation. The band from Aizwal of the Great Indian Rock Fest and The Hornbill Rock Contest is one of the premier and great entertainer amongst the upcoming band of the nation. The band of four has a blend of blues and hip hop spiced up with a lot of nu-age metal leanings in their sounds which they liked to brand as ‘junk rock’. Irrespective of the genre they are in, the band is all out to entertain the rock denizenz and a give them one helluva great time. Boomarang needs no further introduction as best put by the nation’s premier rock mag. RSJ – “when the fire of boomerang has been ignited, its for all to experience and feel it”.

Longest Kiss in History

A Thai couple has sealed a new record for the longest kissing, after locking lips for 46 hours, 24 minutes.
The Guinness World Records still have to verify the latest "kissathon" for it to become official.
Husband and wife team Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat were one of 14 couples taking part in a contest in Pattaya.
The pair won a diamond ring worth 50,000 baht (£1,016) and a 100,000 baht (£2,032) cash prize.

The couple began smooching at 0600 local time on Sunday, and were announced the winners just before dawn on Tuesday.
Contestants had to be either married or a serious couple, with a marriage certificate or letter from both parents required as proof.
They were allowed to eat, drink and use the lavatory, provided they did not break their embrace.
No sitting or sleeping was permitted; one woman fainted just half an hour into the competition.
"We want to show that love is meaningful and powerful," said organiser Somporn Naksuetrong.
"It's not easy to stand there and kiss for that long. They really have to help each other and support each other."
The previous record for the longest continuous kiss of just over 32 hours was set in 2009 by a couple in Germany.

Mahesh Bhupathi weds Lara Dutta

Mumbai, Feb 16 (PTI) Indian tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and bollywood actress Lara Dutta had a registered marriage at a function here today.

The ceremony was attended only by the family members of both sides at the Bhupathi’s Bandra residence here.

Bhupathi confirmed the news at his twitter account.

“Mr. and Mrs Bhupathi folks…,” Bhupathi wrote in his twitter page.

Mr and Mrs Bhupathi will have a function on Friday at Club Fresh, a newly opened beach resort on Candolim beach.

Organised by wedding planners, Dreamz Kraft, the function will be attended by over 200 guests, including Raveena Tandon Thadani, Priyanka Chopra, David Dhawan, Riteish Deshmukh, Dia Mirza and Sajid Khan.

On Saturday, the newly-weds will return to Mumbai where they will be hosting another reception.

Miss World 2010 is Miss United States

Miss United States of America Alexandria Mills (18 years) was named winner of the 2010 Miss World pageant contest held in Sanya, China. Alexandria has recently Graduated from High School. Esquire recently named the 30-year-old stunner, who has some sort of resemblance with Brook and Leighton Meester, as the world’s sexiest woman alive for 2010, besting other notable beauties and getting the opportunity to grace the magazine’s November cover.

Kelly, who is enjoying the company of her boyfriend New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter, thus joined the likes of Kate Beckinsale, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, and Angelina Jolie who were all named as the magazine’s former sexiest women alive.
“I’ve never done a sexy photo shoot before. I’ve never really honestly tapped into that side,” said the “Friday Night Lights” star in an interview with Esquire. “It was really liberating. It was exciting. I would look at the pictures, like, that’s me?”
The daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay and late former Las Vegas showgirl Maureen Kelly, Minka has revealed that she has worked as a nurse in Los Angeles to pay the bills while doing modeling jobs on the side.
Actress Minka Kelly became a Los Angeles nurse so she could pay her bills while she was chasing her modeling dreams. The caring star didn’t want to waste time waiting tables while she went for talent auditions and so she spent a year working at a hospital. “I was a receptionist at this doctor’s office and I became friends with this scrub nurse there because I was fascinated by the surgery and I wasn’t squeamish,” she said in a recent video interview with George Lopez on “Lopez Tonight”.
I got fired from that job… and I learned that going to school to be a scrub nurse was just over a year. I became a surgical technician, a scrub nurse… I worked a six-month externship at California Hospital.”
Sharing what she felt about her mom, who was entirely her family while she was growing up, Kelly has this to say:
She would come home at like three, four o’clock in the morning, and sometimes she would have a really great night, and so she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we’d go to Ralphs and go grocery shopping. And that was so much fun. We’d have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy a hundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The best day.
“They were buddies, partners, each doing everything for the other, and their bond got them through the moves, the no money, the new schools, the unfamiliar towns. They were resourceful,” Esquire writes about the special bond between Kelly and her late mother.
“Anyone can struggle. Anyone can want to make it and try to make it and scrape the door down and hustle,” Kelly shares. “But once you become a little bit successful, that’s more challenging to handle than struggle.”

Miss Universe 2010

The winner of Miss Universe 2010 is Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete, a 22 year old contestant from Guadalajara. Jimena was better than 88 other women from across the globe and bagged the Miss Universe 2010 crown at the 59th Annual International beauty pageant, which took place at Mandalay bay Casino resort in Las Vegas.

Jimena will receive an undisclosed salary, use of luxury apartment in New York with all living expenses apid, a diamond crown, a year worth’s designer wear, hari care products, makeup and shoes, plus one year scholarship to the New York Film Academy and many more.

Miss India 2010 failed to impress the judges and could not reach the top 5.
The top 5 finalists of Miss Universe 2010 were Miss Australia, Miss Ukranine, Miss Jamiaca and Miss Phillipines.
