Governor-in-Council Approves Ration Money Hike for Manipur Police

Imphal, August 21, 2025: In a significant welfare measure, the Governor-in-Council has approved an increase in ration money allowance for Manipur Police personnel, raising it from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 per head per month. The revised rates will come into effect from September 1, 2025.

The hike will benefit security personnel across various units, including the Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Manipur Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop, and Village Defence Force.

According to officials, the approval fulfills a long-standing proposal by the Police Department and is expected to provide a major boost to the morale and motivation of police personnel. Over the past two years and three months, Manipur Police forces have played a vital role in restoring law and order amid turbulent circumstances in the state.

The Police Department noted that the personnel’s sustained efforts, dedication, and sacrifices were instrumental in improving the security situation and consolidating peace across Manipur.

Expressing gratitude, the department said: “This welfare initiative is a recognition of the sacrifices and services rendered by our personnel, and we deeply appreciate the State Government’s support.”
