Imphal, July 2, 2025: Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan today, emphasizing the urgent need for scientific solid waste management and greater public awareness to achieve a cleaner and more sustainable Manipur.

During the meeting, Governor Bhalla underlined the importance of adopting modern, scientific methods for waste disposal and urged concerned departments to act swiftly and decisively. He also stressed the critical role of public participation, calling for citizen engagement and education as part of broader urban reform efforts.

“Cleanliness is not just the responsibility of the government- it requires a collective effort,” the Governor stated, encouraging officials to initiate public campaigns and community involvement to tackle the growing challenge of waste in urban areas.
