Governor Bhalla, Union Minister Scindia Review Manipur’s Key Development Projects

Imphal, July 11, 2025: Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and Union Minister of DoNER, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, co-chaired the second high-level review meeting in Imphal to assess the progress of key development initiatives under the Ministry of DoNER and the North Eastern Council (NEC).

The meeting focused on critical sectors such as handloom and handicrafts, Polo tourism circuit, Loktak Lake development, palm oil cultivation, strengthening weaving communities, logistics, connectivity, and investment promotion. The Vibrant Villages Programme also featured prominently, with emphasis on saturation-based development.

Union Minister Scindia reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to Manipur’s growth, stating that the state's development is being driven by “purpose, partnerships, and progress.” He also followed up on investment opportunities discussed during the Rising Northeast Investors Summit, pushing for practical outcomes across all sectors.

Governor Bhalla called on officials to accelerate project implementation and ensure tangible results on the ground, emphasizing a mission-mode approach for holistic development.
