Serchhip, June 18, 2025: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma today launched the Vantlang Viltu mobile application - also known as the Citizen’s Eye - at the DC Conference Hall in Serchhip. The app, an initiative of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), aims to empower citizens by allowing them to report issues, grievances, and incidents they witness in their localities directly to the authorities in a structured and accessible manner.

Speaking at the launch event, the Chief Minister described the mobile application as a meaningful step towards enhancing governance and transparency. He commended the Deputy Commissioner and the development team for their innovative thinking and timely initiative. Pu Lalduhoma expressed hope that the public would make responsible use of the application and assured that even minor concerns raised through the platform would be sincerely addressed by the relevant authorities. He also highlighted the potential of the app to significantly improve the government’s responsiveness to local needs and called for its replication in other districts across Mizoram.
The Citizen’s Eye application has been designed to facilitate seamless communication between the public and the administration. Citizens can report a wide range of issues including but not limited to road damage, illegal waste dumping, theft, law and order concerns, health hazards, fire incidents, transformer breakdowns, power disruptions, traffic violations, and water supply problems. The application aims to create a more responsive and citizen-centric model of governance by enabling authorities to act quickly on complaints and incidents.
The launch event was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pu Lalrinzuala. Deputy Commissioner Pu Paul L. Khuma, in his remarks, outlined the objectives and operational features of the app, stating that it was developed with the vision of promoting participatory governance in the district. A live demonstration of the app's interface and reporting mechanism was also conducted for the attendees.
