Tuiṭhaphai, May 23, 2025, Virthli (ONP): The Zomi Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO) has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Shri S. Lalthansang Pulamte, also known as Sanga Hmar, who served as Commander-in-Chief and Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) member of the Hmar People’s Convention - Democratic (HPC-D). He passed away on May 22, 2025.
In a condolence message issued by its Central Executive Committee, the ZRO described his death as an "untimely demise" and a "heavy loss" to the larger Zo community, and particularly to the Hmar people. His passing comes at a crucial juncture when the Suspension of Operation (SoO) political dialogue is nearing a potential conclusion.
The ZRO praised Pulamte's unwavering patriotism, dedication, and selfless service to the Zo people, stating that his contributions would be remembered for generations to come. "His footprint and the legacy he left behind will always be enshrined in the heart of the next generation," the statement read.
The organisation called upon all Zo people to honor his legacy by stepping up to carry forward his mission and the cause he stood for.
