Parbung Jubilee Standard School Celebrates HSLC Exam Success

Parbung, May 5, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Jubilee Standard School, located in Parbung, Pherzawl District, held a thanksgiving ceremony on May 5, 2025, at the Hall of Parbung RPC NEI Church. The event was organized to celebrate the success of their students in the 2025 HSLC Examination conducted by the Mizoram Board of School Education. Out of the 16 students who appeared for the exam from Jubilee Standard School, 14 passed, making the overall pass percentage 87.5%. Among them, three secured First Division, five got Second Division, and six got Third Division.

At the thanksgiving event, Headmaster Sir Kapkhanlian Shoute expressed gratitude, stating that the good results were due to God's blessing, support from the staff, and the encouragement from the local church community. He also extended thanks to Baptist Christian English High School, Sakawrdai, for their support in preparing the students for the exam. He added that Jubilee Standard School aims to expand to higher secondary level education in the future.

The event was attended and supported by notable figures such as Rev. Jacob L. Hmar (PS, Tlangram Presbytery RPCNEI), Pu Lalthathang Keivawm (Program Coordinator, Development Department, RPC NEI, Parbung Area), and representatives from HSA General Headquarters and HSA Hmarram Joint Headquarters.

Individual awards were presented at the event. Tv. Calvin Lalrochan, son of Rev. Jacob L. Hmar, received the Best Performance Award (which included a memento and ₹5000 cash), an award established in memory of the late Thangthozakap and his family. Caleb Lalthilthawthei Infimate, son of Chalpiengsung, received the HK Thanga & Thangthuomkim Award (₹5000 and a memento) for securing a letter mark in Social Science. He also received another ₹5000 and memento sponsored by Pu L. Tlanthang and family for obtaining a letter mark in Science. In addition, Pu Thangthasiem contributed ₹1000 in recognition of the achievers. Upa Laltluonglien and his family also awarded cash gifts to all passing students. Headmaster Sir Kapkhanlian Shoute was also honored with a traditional shawl - Thangsuopuon, in recognition of his commitment and hard work.

Jubilee Standard School earlier sent its students for the HSLC exams under the Board of Secondary Education Manipur. After a nine-year gap, the school resumed HSLC exam participation under the Mizoram Board in 2025. The current headmaster, Sir Kapkhanlian Shoute, was also recently recognized with the Special Achievement Award at the Ngurdinglien Sanate Meritorious Awards 2023 & 2024 held at Lungthulien PMS Complex and was now presented with a Special Achievement Award at this event.

The celebration concluded with performances by the students and a traditional feast, including pork and mithun. Jubilee Standard School, established in 1986 under the initiative of RPCNEI Church, has consistently produced capable officers serving in both state and central government roles.
