Kohima, May 10, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has issued an urgent appeal to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, requesting immediate intervention for the safe return of Naga students and working professionals stranded in conflict-affected regions.

In an official letter dated May 10, 2025, the NSF expressed deep concern over the plight of Naga citizens residing in areas impacted by the developing hostilities between the two nations. According to the Federation, many students and professionals have found themselves caught in the escalating crisis, facing severe disruptions due to airport closures and a growing sense of insecurity.

“The lives of our people are being thrown into disarray,” stated the NSF, stressing that multiple affected individuals have reached out to the organization for support and guidance. The letter highlighted the urgency of the situation and urged the state government to take swift, affirmative action to ensure the safety and repatriation of these citizens.

Signed by NSF President Medovi Rhi and Secretary of Education Temjentoshi, the letter called on the Nagaland administration to “put mechanisms in place” that would allow for the secure and timely evacuation of Naga nationals back to their home state.

The NSF has a longstanding history of advocacy for the welfare of Naga students and youth. This latest intervention reflects growing anxiety among northeastern communities with connections in conflict-sensitive zones and underscores the broader implications of international tensions on India’s internal regions.
