Aizawl, May 6, 2025, Virthli (ONP): The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) has declared the results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations 2025, held in February–March. With an overall pass percentage of 79.51%, this year’s performance shows a steady improvement compared to 78.11% in 2024.
This year’s results highlight impressive performances across all streams, with girls dominating the top positions and private schools outperforming government institutions in both pass percentages and top ranks.
A total of 20,180 students appeared for the HSSLC 2025 examinations across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. Out of these, 16,041 students passed, while 4,139 students did not qualify.

ARTS Stream:
1st Rank: Lalrammawii Tochhawng (Mount Carmel School, Aizawl) - 471 marks
2nd Rank: Zorinmawii (St. Paul’s HSS, Aizawl) - 460 marks
3rd Rank: Daniel Lalruatsanga (St. Paul’s HSS, Aizawl) - 456 marks
SCIENCE Stream:
1st Rank: Cynthia Lalhlupuii Shangpliang (St. Paul’s HSS, Aizawl) - 477 marks
2nd Rank (tie): Srijita Samanta and T. Lalmuanpuia (both from St. Paul’s HSS, Aizawl) - 473 marks
3rd Rank: H. Malsawmdawngzuala (St. Paul’s HSS, Aizawl) - 459 marks
COMMERCE Stream:
1st Rank: Kristin Laldinpuii Ralte (Oikos HSS, Aizawl) - 470 marks

Private institutions have once again outperformed their government counterparts by a significant margin, continuing a consistent trend seen in recent years.
Best Performing District:
Aizawl District emerged as the best-performing district with a combined pass percentage of 85.35%, leading in all three streams. It was followed by Champhai and Serchhip in overall performance.
Stream-Wise Overview:

Arts: 9,105 students appeared; 6,972 passed - 76.50% pass rate

A total of 1,009 students secured distinction, 2,985 were in first division, and 3,460 in second division.
