Rothangliana, Chairman of the Global Mizo Council (GMC), General Headquarters, Aizawl, stated that it is important to establish a strong and inclusive common platform under the Mizo identity for all non-Naga hill communities. He emphasized the need for unity and cooperation, especially in the face of efforts by the dominant Meitei group to impose their identity on others. He also said that the people of Mizoram sympathize with the ongoing crisis in Manipur and would continue to offer their moral support.

He further stressed the importance of solidarity and collaboration among the Zo ethnic groups and other highland communities who share common concerns and identity. According to him, the initiative taken by GMC has received positive responses from like-minded individuals and stakeholders, and more concrete actions will follow. He urged more people to support and stand with the efforts of the GMC.
This statement was made during a joint meeting held on May 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the MPC Office, Hmuia Veng, where members of the GMC Sub-Headquarters Manipur and the GMC General Headquarters convened. The meeting was moderated by C. Thlenga, Assistant Secretary of GMC GHQ. Pastor Samuel Gangte, Treasurer of GMC Sub-HQ, led the opening prayer, and Dr. Rev. Lalkhawlien Pulamte, President of GMC Sub-HQ, delivered a note of appreciation and the keynote address. During the meeting, Richard L. Haokip, Vice President (Admin) of GMC Sub-HQ, also presented his reflections.
